Following poor sales, the BT Movio system which provided the TV channels for the Virgin Lobster 700TV are no longer broadcast. The phone can still be used to make calls and tune in to DAB radio but it's main feature was the ability to watch TV.
The Lobster 700TV was exclusive to Virgin Mobile. For a short time it had a high profile advertising campaign in the UK, presented by Pamela Anderson. It was a Windows smartphone, manufactured by HTC, and had a built in digital TV tuner capable of showing programmes on it's 2.2 inch display. The 700TV received TV using a broadcast standard called DAB TV. You could watch BBC1, E4 and ITV1 plus C4 Mobile, which is a version of Channel 4. The 700TV is still an okay smartphone, running Windows Mobile 5. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera, expandable memory and Bluetooth.
