HTC Desire Z

The HTC Desire Z has a slide out QWERTY keyboard and a gorgeous, 3.7 inch, AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. It's bright and clear with vivid colours, enabling you to enjoy HD movies and media at their very best. The technical specifications of the Desire Z are equally impressive. It has an 800MHz CPU, the latest Android OS 2.2 and HTC's Sense user interface. Although it's a weighty device at 180g, the Desire Z feels light in the hand and the sliding mechanism is effortless. It's remarkably thin but extremely strong, constructed from a single piece of aluminium.

As well as HD video recording, the 5 megapixel camera has face tracking, geo-tagging and LED flash. The media player can handle Xvid movies with SRS surround sound and up to 32GB memory using a microSD card.

The Desire Z supports HTC's new cloud-based service, HTCSense.com. The phone can be backed up over the air and it can be remotely locked or wiped if lost or stolen. If you can't find your phone, HTCSense.com lets you see it on a map and you can make it ring at maximum level, even in silent mode. HTCSense.com is a free service for all compatible devices.

The HTC Desire Z can be pre-ordered now SIM free and is rumoured to be coming soon to Vodafone.
